Tutorial – German Short rows
For a Swedish version, click here.
Step 1: Knit up to the point where the pattern asks you to turn work.
Step 2: Turn work.
Step 3: With yarn in front, slip the next stitch as if to purl.
Step 4: Move the yarn to the other side of the work – not in front of the right needle, but over it! This will pull the single strand stitch with it, turning it into an interesting two strand version. (These 2 strand still counts as 1 stitch.) Continue knitting as pattern instructs.
Step 5: When you’ve returned to the wonky 2-stranded stitch, and are about to pass over it, simply knit those 2 strands together. Continue knitting as pattern instructs. Piece of cake, eh?
