Looking for an easy yet interesting knit for the little one?
Stig is a simple and elegant vest for both boys and girls – starting with a provisional CO you first work the back shoulder section, continued with working the fronts separately and finished with working the body in the round. Edges and all as you go – when you’re done, you’re really done!

All sizes has been properly test knitted. Since the test knit I’ve moved all sizes down one “step”, to make sure the garment won’t be too tight and will be wearable for a while!

I started doing this lovely vest for my granddaughter, I followed exactly what it said, though was not sure what it meant as provisional cast on, I cast on 76sts, when it came to bit, save 17, BO 42, save 17, going fine until I get to joining body, have no clue how to go forward, hope you can help as y granddaughter keeps telling its Willow’s jumper and its nice, so would hate to disappoint.

    Thank you

      Hello!
With a provisional CO, you get live stitches both ways at the CO, to work the other way later! If you did a normal CO, you can just, from the RS, pick up and knit stitches along the CO edge, the same number as you CO. You then continue in the round. You will get a small “seam” on the inside from the pick up, but hopefully that won’t bother you too much. I hope this helps!

      All the best
      Madeleine
